Tedesco Tile Group is a family run business which has been operating for 4 decades. Our Chairman Donny Tedesco started the present company in 1970.

Donny's father Julio arrived from Italy to start a new life in Scotland and although with a limited understanding of the English language he had an abundance of enthusiasm and skills coupled with a strong work ethic and an ability to work long hours. His tremendous efforts with the Terrazzo business soon paid off and he became renowned in the Glasgow area for his first class, professional work and quality product.

Julio opened a workshop in Castle Street, Glasgow where he operated successfully for many years. The business eventually closed when Julio was no longer able to work.

A few years later his son, Donny Tedesco, (the present owner) decided that he would resurrect the business using the skills passed on to him by his father.

Donny a young, energetic and enthusiastic man juggled two jobs at this time to get the business going. Early each morning he would carry out his job as a delivery driver and for the remainder of each day, he would indulge in his passion of making Terrazzo doorsteps.

The doorsteps produced by Donny proved to be so popular that he quickly had to rent a shop in Maryhill Road, Glasgow to display his wares. Once again, hard work and determination displayed by the Tedesco family had paid off.

During this time Donny met and married, Carol a cherished asset to the business. They worked together in the business and soon welcomed two new additions to their family, Maria and Iggy.

The business continued to grow expanding into the ceramic tiling trade, new premises in Maryhill were secured, followed by premises in Possilpark and thereafter other locations across Scotland.

The selection and choice of tiles continued to develop and Donny added domestic bathrooms to his range of products. Due to the company's success and high level of customer care Tedesco Tile Group soon caught the attention of some major building contractors. This resulted in Tedesco Tile Group being involved in some of the major tiling projects which have been carried out across the UK and Europe.

At present Tedesco Tile Group is still a family run, friendly business with their main base being in Kennedy Street, Townhead, Glasgow. Donny and Carol remain key partners in the business with their son Iggy preparing to take over the helm.
